Accelerating the Transition to SaaS with Terraform and Cloud Automation

Profisee partnered with Solliance to rapidly launch the industry's first fully managed SaaS Master Data Management (MDM) platform. By combining cloud-native architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and a collaborative delivery model, the team went from the first line of code to a customer-ready environment in just 100 days.

Key Results

  • SaaS platform launched in 100 days

  • Industry-first SaaS MDM offering

  • Fully automated infrastructure with Terraform

  • Internal team enabled to operate independently

  • Faster customer onboarding and deployment

The Challenge

The MDM Industry Was Moving to the Cloud

As organizations accelerated cloud adoption, expectations around Master Data Management began to shift. Customers increasingly wanted the flexibility, scalability, and operational simplicity of SaaS solutions.

Profisee recognized the opportunity early and set out to become the first MDM provider to deliver a fully managed SaaS platform to market.

From Cloud-Ready to SaaS-Ready

Profisee had already modernized its platform through microservices, containerization, and Kubernetes. While the application was cloud-ready, launching a secure, scalable SaaS offering required an entirely new operational foundation.

The company needed automated infrastructure, deployment processes, governance, security controls, and the ability to manage customer environments at scale without slowing down delivery.

The Approach

Building the Foundation for a SaaS Platform

Solliance began the engagement with an Architecture Design Session designed to understand Profisee's goals, technical requirements, security considerations, and long-term vision.

The result was a practical roadmap for building a secure and scalable SaaS platform while maintaining the speed required to meet aggressive business objectives.

A Blended Team Focused on Speed and Knowledge Transfer

Rather than operating as a traditional consultancy, Solliance worked directly alongside Profisee's engineering team throughout the project.

The goal was not only to deliver a platform, but also to transfer knowledge and establish the operational practices needed for long-term success.

Infrastructure as Code from Day One

Terraform became the foundation of the new platform.

By adopting Infrastructure as Code, the team automated deployments, standardized environments, improved governance, and created repeatable processes that would support future growth and expansion.

The Outcome

From First Line of Code to Production in 100 Days

Working in eight two-week sprints, the Solliance and Profisee teams moved from architecture planning to a live customer environment in just 100 days.

Industry-First SaaS MDM Platform Launched

In February 2022, Profisee launched the industry's first fully managed SaaS Master Data Management platform, delivering a modern SaaS experience without sacrificing deployment flexibility.

Infrastructure Automated at Scale

With Terraform at its core, the platform enabled standardized deployments, stronger governance, and rapid environment provisioning through automation.

Internal Teams Enabled to Operate Independently

By the end of the engagement, Profisee had the skills, processes, and operational maturity needed to manage and evolve the platform independently.

A Foundation for Future Growth

Cloud-native architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and repeatable operational practices positioned Profisee to onboard customers faster, expand into new regions, and scale with confidence.

Eric Melcher, Profisee CTO

"With Solliance and HashiCorp we went from writing that first line of code to actually having an environment up and running for a customer in a hundred days. This project was really the culmination of three parties coming together to meet a challenge."
